Pooler training center inspired by past and future

When Quick Start began planning the Advanced Manufacturing Training Center, we knew it had to make a statement. Attracting new industry was as important as serving existing industry. Through a rigorous and creative exercise, we designed a building in which each element performs a critical function, but also projects an additional message.

Inspired by the tradition of the built environment in the Coastal Empire, we chose design elements that harkened to the layout, materials and spirit of Historic Savannah. The landscaping was installed to create a lasting, lush experience one would find during rides along Victory Drive, Abercorn, or the causeway out to Tybee Island.

Inside, state-of-the art technology was prepared to meet the needs of the 21st century smart factory. It was a challenge, but it was also a great success.

Surrounded by protected wetlands, the Quick Start Advanced Manufacturing Training Center proves to be a key part of the explosive growth of manufacturing in Georgia’s Coastal Empire.

The Quick Start Advanced Manufacturing Training Center is surrounded by protected wetlands.

The 50,000-square-foot facility was built to provide local manufacturing companies with customized workforce training.

It’s hard to believe that the once undeveloped stretch of land is now a state-of-the-art facility equipped to train employees in Smart Factory 4.0 technologies.

The training center includes classrooms and meeting spaces, a multi-purpose room and a high bay training space, the framing for which is pictured here.

Although Quick Start has other training centers built to accommodate specific clients such as Kia and Hyundai, whose Mobility Training Center of Georgia is currently under construction, the Advanced Mobility Training Center was built to serve various in the coastal area.

The center is equipped for a wide range of training, including control systems, networked wireless systems, and automation and robotics.

The center also features a flexible training space, which can be reconfigured with machinery, workbenches and other training tools to meet the customized needs of each company.

“I think it’s a great asset for our state, not just for the (Savannah) area, but the state as a whole,” said Gov. Brian Kemp when he toured the facility in 2019.

The landscaping was installed to create a lasting, lush experience one would find during rides along Victory Drive, Abercorn, or the causeway out to Tybee Island.

Visitors to the training center are welcomed by a drive that was inspired by the squares of Historic Savannah.
