Food giant looks to Quick Start for safety training

Kerry Foods might not be familiar to American customers strolling a grocery store aisle. But, the Ireland-based Kerry Group is one of the leading global suppliers in the “taste and nutrition” sector, providing flavorings, coatings, seasonings and batters to major food manufacturers around the world.

The company announced in 2019 it was making its largest-ever capital investment of $125 million to hire more than 100 employees and build a 360,000-square-foot state-of-the-art production facility in Rome, Georgia.

When Kerry Group decided to locate in Rome, it turned to Georgia Quick Start for help with its new workforce. New employees got an onboarding orientation and introduction to their highly innovative new employer, and then trained on the company’s processes, food safety and personal safety.

“Food safety is incredibly important to us,” said Kerry Montgomery, continuous improvement manager at Kerry. “And Quick Start gives them the tools they need when they go onto the floor.”
