Key HMGMA supplier training includes mechatronics and safety awareness

Quick Start’s Eastern Operations around Savannah, Georgia, are busier than ever as opening day approaches for Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA). Suppliers are an essential part of HMGMA, and the largest tier-one supplier is Hyundai Mobis, which manufacturers front and rear end chassis modules, cockpit modules, as well as key parts to build batteries for electric vehicles.

Training for Mobis includes company-specific assembly courses, mechatronics, and electrical safety awareness. Trainees are also provided with safety and organizational development courses, such as Lean, leadership training and conflict resolution.

To provide the training, Quick Start is using its main Advanced Manufacturing Training Center in Pooler, Ga., and an interim facilities while the new Hyundai Mobility Training Center of Georgia is under construction adjacent to the Metaplant. The Metaplant, where Mobis’ operations in the Savannah area will be located, is slated to start production on vehicles by early 2025.
