Quick Start provides cutting edge training for retail giant’s e-commerce fulfillment
As more and more consumers shift to the convenient world of online shopping, the world’s largest retailer is upping its dot-com game — and Quick Start is helping.
Walmart and Quick Start recently celebrated the next step in their training partnership at Walmart’s new e-commerce fulfillment center in southwest metro Atlanta’s Union City.
The 1.2 million-square-foot facility is Walmart’s third large-scale e-commerce fulfillment center to open in the U.S., bringing nearly 400 jobs to south Fulton County. It features state-of-the-art automation and warehousing systems that fills orders directly to online shoppers. The fulfillment center represents a $55 million investment in Fulton County and is one of the most technologically advanced facilities of its kind in the world.
Quick Start will be training associates in both hard skills and soft skills, with programs ranging from inbound process training and RSR outbound process training, to leadership development and productivity enhancement training.
“[The partnership with Quick Start]’s been great,” said Troy Walker, operations manager at Walmart.Com DC 8240. “They’ve been great partners in the past, and that hasn’t changed that in this project. … I’m really excited about what this may be able to present, not only for Walmart, but for the Union City area.”
